Jett Travolta Died Because Of Scientology - One More Death Because Of Scientology

Jett Travolta, John Travolta's son, died because of the "Church" of Scientology. His recent death is just one more death caused directly because of the beliefs and practices of Scientology.

Jett died from violent seizures that could have been easily prevented if he was on normal seizure medication. Instead, he was only on vitamins and hot saunas. Vitamins and hot saunas are what Scientology believes will treat everything. Normal people know that to prevent deadly type seizures, you need real medication. Real medication is sadly, not allowed in the "Church" of Scientology.

Questions to be asked:
Will John Travolta leave Scientology after he finally knows that it doesn't work?
When will the government step in and shut this evil cult down?
How many more lives need to be lost?

UPDATE

So, it's true. Jett was taken off the medication that was preventing his seizures.

From tmz.com

"They say the Travoltas were concerned about possible physical damage. And, Jett went back to having around one seizure a week. So Travolta and Preston, after consulting neurosurgeons, stopped administering the drug."

Who are these "neurosurgeons"? Why do I have a feeling that they are Scientologists?

To view Scientology's legal waiver that it makes new members sign, click here and the actual contract viewed here. This is a contract that makes the new member aware of the fact that using medication of any kind is forbidden in the Church of Scientology.

Also, they say the only medication they were giving Jett at one time was
Depakote. Depakote's primary use is for bi-polar disease, not seizures. A common drug given to people that have grand mal seizures is phenobarbital, not Depakote.

How do you know he died from violent seizures?

The autopsy hasn't even started!!!

How do you know for sure he wasn't on seizure medication?

Can you quote where Scientology claims to be against people taking medication for seizure?

How do you know he was on vitamins and hot saunas? Any proof for such an allegation?

How do you know that medication would have prevented the seizure? Sometime it does sometimes it doesn't. How do you know that it would have?

Where does the COS says that real medication is not allowed in the Church of Scientology? Quote?

You seem to "know" a lot of things! Even what nobody else know, not even the two experts who are set to make the autopsy on Monday morning.

Should we just accept your all-knowing wise science tinfoil authority or are you going to offer us something to substantiate your claims?

Oh, and BTW, people do not die of seizure, they may die because the seizure makes them hit something.

Looking forward for your answer.

You obviously don't know anything about medicine. Depakene is most certainly used for treatment of seizures. Dilantin is another such drug. Phenobarbital is not the most commonly used drug now days. Drug levels are easily and routinely monitored. Seizures do still occur in patients on drug therapy so you really have no basis whatsoever for your "opinion".

Also, I did not read anything pertaining to COS rejection of all medicine-only psychiatric drugs and treatment.

Get your facts straight before you start posted trash. This family is going through enough without people like you spreading lies.

By the way, I am a Christian not a follower of COS.

Just one comment, Depakote Is in fact given for epilepsy BUT it is also given for Bipolar Disorder. My feeling is that you are probably right that the Travoltas discontinued the Depakote, but perhaps they did this not because Scientology doesn't believe in medication use in "any" cases, but that Scientologists are such strong advocates for "No medication for psychiatric disorders". So if scientologists feel that psychiatric medications are "wrong", then they could not let Jett be on Depakote, because it went against their beliefs. I agree with you completely though about the idea of when will Scientologists be made accountable, because if a Jehovah's witness tries to withold a blood transfusion from their child, it is considered illegal, because the outcome of the witholding of the blood transfusion could result in the DEATH of the child. In the same way, a Scientologist who is also a parent should NOT be allowed to withold necessary medication from their child, no matter what their religious beliefs are....I dont think Scientology is wrong, and I feel terrible for the Travolta family, but if Jett died because they witheld medication that could have saved his life, that is so wrong....

Depakote was originally used in epilepsy. It was later that it was used for Bipolar as a mood stabilizer.

My husband is a Mayo Clinic board certified neurologist and epileptologist and I can assure you that this boy did NOT need to die from a seizure at least not this way. Seizures are most often easily controlled with a variety of medications that cause few side effects. Our own 24 year old daughter has epilepsy and is controlled and has a normal productive life. It should be considered child abuse not to treat an epileptic. Seizures can kill. If they weren't giving him medications then they damn well should have had a helmet on him at ALL times , Caregivers can fall asleep. Their religion is dangerous and stupid. This is not the 15th century. I feel very sorry for their loss but they basically caused it so they need to look hard in the mirror and apologise to the world for letting this kid die. I saw this boy several years ago in NC when John was making a movie here. He was obviously Autistic and needed to be carried around. He was not communicative at all...they should have institutionalized him if they were that ashamed of his condition.

Actually your wrong on one point. I take Depakote for a bi-polar condition and, the bi-polar condition is a form of seizure. Depakote is a very good treatment for some people who suffer from seizures. From the medical page about this medication "Depakote and Depakote ER are indicated for the treatment of complex partial seizures, and simple and complex absence seizures in adults and children 10 years of age and older with epilepsy."
