Jett Travolta Was Taken Off The Medication That Was Preventing His Seizures

Scientology: Jett Travolta, John Travolta's son: Another Mysterious Scientology death
The Travolta's at one time had Jett on a medication called Depakote, which is mainly used for bi-polar disease. For some reason, they stopped using the Depakote and went back to Scientology's methods of Vitamins, deadly amounts of Niacin, exercise and hot sauna's. With Jett's dangerous grand mal seizures, he needed to be on real medication.

From gawker.com
"Take the family's unchallenged assertion that he suffered from Kawasaki disease, an immunological syndrome which causes painful inflammation, after exposure to carpet-cleaning chemicals, and that he died after hitting his head after suffering a related seizure. At least one doctor disputes the notion, saying that there's no link between chemical exposure and Kawasaki disease and that it does not cause seizures.

Jett may have suffered instead from autism which went untreated, because of Travolta's adherence to the cult like religion of Scientology and the bizarre beliefs about mental illness that go with it."

From TMZ.com
"They say the Travoltas were concerned about possible physical damage. And, Jett went back to having around one seizure a week. So John Travolta and Kelly Preston, after consulting neurosurgeons, stopped administering the drug."

Who are these "neurosurgeons"? Why do I have a feeling that they are Scientologists?

Also, they say the only medication they were giving Jett at one time was Depakote. Depakote's primary use is for bi-polar disease, not seizures. A common drug given to people that prevent seizures is Phenobarbital, not Depakote.

According to this page - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antiepileptic, there are A LOT of other options out there for people who have seizures. It's interesting to note that "Depakote" and "Vitamins & exercise" are not on the list.

It also makes the member aware of consequences if these rules are broken. And by signing the contract it gives Scientology the right to speak on your behalf if you ever become hospitalized.

That's insane. The notoriously criminal Scientology corporation's fake "drug treatment" fraud they call "NarCONon" not only does not work, the freakishly bizarre quack medical frauds the insane kooks use that were dreamed up by their drug-addled conman messiah L. Ron Hubbard can be DEADLY.

Scientology's "NarCONon" fraud uses L. Ron Hubbard's freakish "Purification Rundown" noti0ons which include toxic levels of niacine and insane flying saucer kook reading, all of which is very debilitative and leaves drug and alcohol addicts not only still addicted but something near $20,000 in debt to the criminal enterprise.

http://www.crackpots.org/

Anyone stupid enough to give these insane criminals their money still does not deserve to have Scientology rook and swindle them with their "NarCONon" fraud.

But don't take my work for the criminal enterprise's word for anything. Do your own homework and look at the miracle claims made by the Scientology crooks, then look at what medical doctors and legitimate drug treatment organizations have to say.

Great article about Jett Travolta and Scientology.

How many more people have to die before they shut this racket down?

"The Travolta's at one time had Jett on a medication called Depakote, which is mainly used for bi-polar disease. "

Depakote is valproic acid, which has been known for 125 years and used for its anticonvulsant (as in seizure) properties for around 45 years.

Get your facts straight, moron.

" For some reason, they stopped using the Depakote and went back to Scientology's methods of Vitamins, deadly amounts of Niacin, exercise and hot sauna's"

Lie. prove it.

"Jett may have suffered instead from autism which went untreated"

There is no cure for autism.

"because of Travolta's adherence to the cult like religion of Scientology "

Lie. Where is the source of that assertion that Scientology does not recognize autism?

"and the bizarre beliefs about mental illness that go with it"

Autism is not a mental illness.

"Since Scientology does not recognize any psychiatric disorders, "

Autism is a medical disorder, there is no reason Scientology would prevent treatment for it, except that no treatment exist that would cure it.

"the Travolta family did not admit or treat their son Jett's reported autism"

Reported by who? By you???

How do you know they did not treat their son?

There is no treatment of autism that would cure.

You are just babbling and displaying your crass ignorance, not to say your obvious bias and hatred.

As an R.N. and Legal Nurse Consultant familiar with protocols for managing seizure disorders, I can tell you that FIRST, it is Neurologists, not Neurosurgeons that manage medication regimens for patients with seizure disorders, like Jett. SECOND, the correct protocol for discontinuing a seizure drug is to first implement a NEW drug and get it up to therapeutic levels, and only after that, taper or discontinue the old drug. And THIRD, no practicing physician of any kind would make such an inappropriate recommendation for fear of being sued. If the parents do not file such a lawsuit, then these "Neurosurgeons" probably don't exist. Instead, withholding the depakote without medical advice
was the parents' idea was the proximate cause of Jett's death. As a Guardian ad Litem I think it should be investigated.

I know this post is old, but valproic acid (Depakote/Depakote ER) was first approved for use as an anticonvulsant in 1967 in France, then not long after in the US and elsewhere. It wasn't until later that it was approved by the FDA in treating mania associated with bipolar disorder and even later it was approved for migraine prophylaxis. And Depakote is the most widely used anticonvulsant used worldwide today.

Barbiturates are typically a final resort with most conditions due to their abuse and ease of overdosing with due to a narrow therapeutic range before reaching an often lethal dose. They do have a legitimate use, but in most treatments now, there are other medications that are preferred over barbiturates.

Just FWIW, I suppose. I think Scientology is a load of shit that ruins lives, families, etc., etc., I just think it looks uninformed by saying "Also, they say the only medication they were giving Jett at one time was Depakote. Depakote's primary use is for bi-polar disease, not seizures. A common drug given to people that prevent seizures is Phenobarbital, not Depakote." when that's not completely accurate. I find it atrocious he was taken off the Depakote in place of vitamins and minerals and other ridiculous crock Scientology shit.

The blog is very excellent By the way, for alcoholics out there who need to attend AA meetings but couldn’t find one that details the AA schedule, I found a great schedule of AA’s at sober.com. I’m not affiliated with this site, I just want recovering alcoholics out there to find a comprehensive list of AA meetings just in case you are relocating or searching for an AA meeting in your new place. For the complete list of AA meetings, here’s the link: http://sober.com/aa-alcoholic-anonymous-meetings.html
